welcome to WNDRLND!

studio IDFK becomes WNDRLND

We are pleased to announce that as of November 1, 2024, studio IDFK has moved to a new storefront location at 25 Baldwin St. in Baldwin Village, just one block from its original location at 190 McCaul St.

The new location will henceforth be known as "WNDRLND".

Just two years ago studio IDFK opened its doors on McCaul St. two blocks north of the Art Gallery of Ontario (AGO) and OCAD University, to quickly become a vibrant hub for indie art, fashion and music in downtown Toronto.

"We are now located directly on one of Toronto's most unique and charming neighbourhood streets says WNDRLND & IDFK founder Ian Kelso. "Here WNDRLND will be much more accessible and even more a part of the fabric of a very special place in the city of Toronto"

A LONG HISTORY OF SUPPORTING BOLD IDEAS

Baldwin Village was one of Toronto's most thriving centres of counterculture during the late 60s and early 70s and was a sanctuary for conscientious objectors to the war in Viet Nam who migrated up to Canada from the USA during that period. In particular 25 Baldwin St. was a fashion and craft store called Yellow Ford Truck where newly arrived artisans could create and sell their handwork.

"We want to offer Toronto a new space for community for artists which can support bold ideas and help foster a new generation of artful products and experiences" adds WNDRLND founder Ian Kelso. "The design of our space is made up of many different rooms that are all interconnected, allowing for it to be quickly transformed to suit different kinds of exhibitions, performances, marketplaces and other event experiences."
